Honey Garlic Shrimp
When your picky eater starts to grow their palate…. you get to try new recipes!
Honey Garlic Shrimp over seasoned rice was a hit! My hubs even entertained a few shrimp. It got the Make Again Approval from my son and I’m so pumped. I always love shrimp dishes.
I added garlic & chili pepper shake to the rice and the sauce overtop really made this complete.
INGREDIENTS
1 lb Raw Shrimp, peeled and deveined
3 Tbsp, 1 tsp Garlic, minced
4 tsp Ginger, minced
1-1/2 tsp, divided Chili Pepper Shake (+/- depending on your desire for spiciness)
3 Tbsp, divided Olive Oil
2/3 cup Honey
2/3 cup Soy Sauce
1-2 Green Onion, thinly sliced
1 cup Rice
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
DIRECTIONS
Cook rice with 1 tsp garlic, ½ tsp Chili Pepper Shake, ½ tsp salt, ¼ tsp pepper
Place shrimp in a bowl or bag.
In a small bowl, mix marinade. (3 Tbsp Garlic, Ginger, 1 tsp Chili Pepper Shake, 2 Tbsp Olive Oil, Honey and Soy Sauce)
Pour ¼ of marinade onto shrimp and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 min. Save remaining marinade for later.
In a medium pan, heat 1 tsp olive oil. Add shrimp to the pan, but discard the used marinade. Cook shrimp on one side for about one minute, then flip.
Pour in remaining marinade and cook until shrimp is cooked through and just firm. Remove the shrimp from the pan and let the marinade reduce.
Serve the shrimp over rice topped with sauce and garnish with green onion.
