SOS (Sh*t on a Shingle)

The hubs and I are still picking each other’s weekly Little Things and this week his, that I chose, was that he loves when I make SOS.

I literally cannot remember the last time I made this but I still pulled through for him. It’s classic and it’s comfy and we enjoyed every bite.

My teenage son thinks sausage gravy is better though. Haha!

*UPDATED Recipe 3/29/24

3 Tbs Butter

3 Tbs Flour

1/4-1/2 tsp Chili Pepper Shake

1/4-1/2 tsp Garlic Powder

1/4-1/2 tsp Onion Powder

1/4-1/2 tsp Rosemary

1/4-1/2 tsp Salt

1/4-1/2 tsp Parsley

  2. Add the flour and spices to your liking and whisk together to form a roux. Cook for 1-2 minutes.

  3. Whisk in the milk and bring to a boil over medium high heat. Once the mixture comes to a boil, cook until the sauce thickens.

  5. Spoon creamed chipped beef sauce onto the toast or biscuits.

*If impatient, thicken with a small amount of Corn Starch/Cold Water mixture.
