Holiday Toffee

One of my boys top 3 holiday treats we make, this simple recipe is so easy and delicious. Timing is key to creating this delightful candy that will get gobbled up quicker than it took to make! HaHa!

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup Butter

1 cup Brown Sugar

7oz (or so) Chocolate Bar, melted

1/4 cup Pecans, finely chopped

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan stirring constantly.

  2. Using a candy thermometer, boil until mixture reaches 300 degrees F, be sure to continue stirring to prevent burning.

  3. Once temp is reached, pour mixture onto sheet pan lined with parchment paper. Working quickly, using a scraper, spread until approximately 1/4” thickness uniformly. (or your desired thickness)

  4. Pour chocolate over top, spreading evenly.

  5. Sprinkle chopped pecans (optional) over top chocolate.

  6. Once cooled, cut with knife into desired size pieces. Store in air tight container if there’s any left, HaHa!

*I prefer to refrigerate to help the chocolate set up quicker.
