French Dip Sammies

A staple in our home, eyes always light up when they enter the house and smell the tender beef roast that’s been cooking all day. We’ve added our own little spin on this to make it just that much more tasty.

Ingredients

1 Bottle Johnny’s Au Jus French Dip Concentrate (mixed with water as directed on bottle)

1-2 lb Beef Roast (we prefer Boneless Chuck Roast)

8 slices Provolone Cheese

4 Hoagie Buns (best when from your grocers bakery)

2 Tbsp Butter

1/2 Green Pepper, sautéed

Garlic Salt, to taste

Italian Seasoning, to taste

Directions

  1. In a crock pot, cook roast for 6-8 hours submerged in Johnny’s Au Jus (mixed according to package directions)

  2. Once cooked, remove roast and clean of any excess fat. Add back into crockpot juices until ready to prepare sammies.

  3. Sauté green peppers and set aside.

  4. Slice and butter inside of hoagie buns. Set tops aside. Place bottom half of bun on baking sheet and broil in oven until cut side is toasted to your liking.

  5. Add top buns back to baking sheet aside correlating bottom. Load up bottom bun with roast (drained well with slotted spoon) and green pepper. Add 2 slices of provolone so they slightly overlap gap between buns. Sprinkle entire sammy with Italian seasoning and garlic salt.

  6. Broil until toasted to your liking.

  7. Slice and serve sammies with remaining au jus from crock pot. Enjoy!
